Breaking Bad Brushing Habits

Healthy habits we learn as a child have a greater chance of sticking with us through adulthood. The American Dental Association suggests breaking the following bad habits.

Breaking Bad Brushing Habits
1. Keeping your toothbrush for too long
2. Not brushing long enough
3. Brushing too hard
4. Brushing after eating
5. Storing your brush improperly
6. Using a brush with hard bristles
7. Improper brush technique
8. Using a brush that's not the best fit for you.
At every 6 month check-up, we give your child a new soft, pediatric-sized toothbrush and show them how to use it.  It's just one of the ways we want to help your child develop healthy habits and put them on the path to good dental hygiene.  We are your home for pediatric dentistry.
