Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses custom-made, clear plastic trays to realign or correct teeth. They're FDA-approved and made of BPA-free materials. Invisalign treatment involves wearing these clear plastic trays, or aligners, to gradually shift your teeth into the desired position. The Invisalign clear aligners are worn most of the day and all night.  You will change to new aligners every few weeks during the process.

• Consultation, X-rays, and impressions: Your Invisalign treatment starts with a consultation with our orthodontist, Dr. Claire, who will evaluate your smile and take X-rays of your teeth and jaw.  Next, we take digital tooth impressions to create your orthodontic aligners. We will then develop a customized digital treatment plan that outlines your smile's step-by-step transformation.
• Prep work and fitting: Once your clear aligners are ready, we prepare your teeth by applying composite patches to each tooth to help the clear aligners grip onto the tooth and move them if necessary. We may also perform interproximal reduction, creating more space between the teeth to allow movement. We will then review the fit of the clear aligners and may try different molds until we find the perfect fit.
• Changes to your mouth: The clear aligners may feel strange at first, and you may experience some level of discomfort, but this will go away after a few days. You may experience a slight lisp after getting your aligners, but you'll quickly get used to them.

The length of time that Dr. Claire expects treatment with Invisalign aligners to take will depend on your specific needs. We do offer a Fast Track program for patients with minor alignment issues. If you qualify for the Fast Track program, you will achieve your dream smile in just a few months.

For Invisalign trays to work, you have to be committed to wearing the trays most of the day (20 to 22 hours per day). The only time you should take your orthodontic aligners off is when you're eating, brushing, or flossing your teeth, or cleaning your aligners. You should also take care and keep track of your aligners because if you lose them or accidentally damage them, you'll have to wait for them to be remade, stalling your progress.

There are many reasons why you might opt for Invisalign over traditional braces. These include:

• Invisible: One significant benefit of Invisalign is that people most likely won’t notice you have an orthodontic appliance – the clear aligners are discreet.
