Regardless of age, orthodontic treatment creates a comfortable bite, making teeth fit better and decreasing the risk of future dental problems such as tooth decay, gum disease, and difficulty chewing. At AKT Orthodontics and BKT Orthodontics, we provide orthodontic treatment for:
- Children 6-10 years old: Starting orthodontic treatment such as braces, retainers, and expanders during your child’s early years helps avoid progressive dental issues, meaning less extensive treatment in the future. At this age, orthodontic treatment is the most effective due to softer tissue. When a child is younger, it’s much easier to correct orthodontic problems such as protruding teeth, crowding, spacing, and missing teeth since the bone is more malleable and easier to manipulate. It is recommended that kids get an orthodontic evaluation around the age of 7 to detect potential problems early on and plan treatment accordingly.
- Teens 11-17 years old: The majority of kids that need braces will get them at this time. Teens still have a lot of growing to do, but your mouth stops growing once all of your teeth come in. Starting orthodontic treatment after a patient has lost most or all of their baby teeth can be ideal.
- Adults: Austin Kids Teeth also provides adult orthodontic treatment. It is never too late to see an orthodontist! Today, many adults are electing to address concerns with their smiles, and we would love to help you!
What if my teeth aren’t that bad?
If you are uncertain if you should get braces we suggest making an appointment for an orthodontic consultation. Dr. Claire will take a look at your teeth, the alignment of your upper and lower jaw, and your overall jaw function to help you come to the best decision about your care
Orthodontics Cost
Typically, insurance covers a portion of the cost of orthodontia services. Our orthodontic offices also offer several payment options, including payment plans and interest-free financing to make your orthodontic treatment affordable. Your treatment plan will include a breakdown of all applicable fees, and we will inform you of all costs before you begin treatment. We’ll also do our best to ensure that you get the most out of your dental insurance. We strive to provide you with affordable, high-quality treatment that fits your budget!
